Sacred Geometry

Sacred Geometry is a conceptual body of work that delves into the themes of presence and time, driven by the photographer's personal quest for existential meaning. Employing the large-format camera and other analogue formats, Peter immerses himself in a diverse range of domestic landscapes, deliberately seeking out enigmatic and historically significant sites. His exploration revolves around the intrinsic connection between individuals and the elemental forces at play.

By examining both contemporary and ancient structures, Peter delves into their dualistic nature—familiar yet imbued with esoteric symbolism within the landscape. These mystical monuments and their celestial associations provoke inquiries into the notions of spatial and temporal presence. Although they exist as replicas of their Egyptian counterparts, the pyramids embody their creators' aspirations for immortality, simultaneously serving as symbols of human vanity and echoes of ancient wisdom.

Sacred Geometry has achieved notable recognition, securing its place in Source Magazine’s graduate issue after being selected from a competitive pool of nearly 50 university graduate courses across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The striking imagery led to the project’s title image gracing the cover of the magazine. Additionally, the work found publication in Abridged Magazine, Irish Arts Review and earned a coveted spot on the shortlist for the RDS Visual Arts Awards.
